Following an intelligence tip-off to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Mirissa in coordination with Weligama Police nabbed a suspect with 300g of Kerala Cannabis, during a raid carried out in Weligama region today (July, 30).

Three (03) Reverse Osmosis plants declared open under the auspices of Navy
The Sri Lanka Navy has been implementing a wide range of community service projects under the visionary leadership of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne. The installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in areas that are prone to the kidney disease is one of the many such noble projects undertaken by the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, 03 more RO units installed at the Army cantonment in Kokeliya, Vavuniya, 3rd Commando Regiment in Mundimuruppu and Mahamailankulama were declared open yesterday (July,29).
