Sri Lanka Golf Union conducts a Junior Golf Development Coaching Camp at the Navy Aqua Golf Driving Range in Welisara

The Sri Lanka Golf Union Junior Golf Development Sub Committee organized a Golf coaching camp to provide professional and international coaching exposure by securing the services of highly acclaimed Indian Golf training professional Mr. Bamby Randhawa. In a first time initiative, the coaching camp which was conducted over four days, was successfully launched at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort on Saturday and Sunday (27, 28) and the follow up action of the coaching techniques and finer points was carried out at the Aqua Golf Driving Range, the Navy's Golf facility in Welisara on 29th and 30th August 2016.

Local coaches representing the Sri Lanka Navy, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Nuwara Eliya Golf Club and Victoria Golf and Country Resort were present in the training session with a view to studying the coaching techniques from the veteran Golf trainer, Mr. Bamby Randhawa. The President of the Naval Officers’ Children’s Club, Sathyajith Wijegunaratne also attended this event.

The initiative of conducting such coaching camps and clinics, adding knowledge and updating modern technological training procedures, will undoubtedly enrich the skill development of the Sri Lankan junior golfers. Expressing his thoughts during the coaching clinic, Mr. Randhawa highly appreciated the state of the art facilities available at the Sri Lanka Navy Aqua Golf Driving Range for prospective golfers in Sri Lanka.
