Navy arrests 7 persons engaged in illegal harvesting of sea cucumbers
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thammanna in North Central Naval Command arrested 7 persons along with a haul of 40 kg of Sea Cucumbers, harvested illegally in the North of Irukkulampiddi in Mannar on 30^th March 2016. Seven diving masks, 5 pairs of diving fins and a Fiber Glass Dingy were also taken into custody during the arrest.

The arrested persons along with the fishing gears and the haul of Sea Cucumbers were handed over to the Assistant Director Fisheries – Mannar for further action.
