Navy arrests thirty three local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka in North Central Naval Command arrested 33 persons along with illegally caught approximately 1500 sea cucumbers, 3 fishing dhows and a FGD in the general area of Anthonipuram on 26^th March 2016.

The arrested persons, along with belongings and sea cucumbers were handed over to the officials of the Assistant Director Fisheries, Mannar for onward action.
