The navy assists to transfer a critically ill fisherman ashore
 

The Sri Lanka Navy today (27) assisted the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources to transfer a critically ill fisherman who went on fishing on 17 this month on a multi - day fishing trawler from the Negombo fisheries harbor.

On the request of the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, the navy took an immediate action by sending one of its naval ships, SLNS Nandimithra to reach the destination. The patient was then safely transferred to the naval ship, SLNS Nandimithra in the seas about 115 NMs off the Galle Lighthouse. After carrying the patient to the port of Gall, he was had the been transferred to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further medical treatment.
